Recent western Coyote Taken near Los Vaqueros reservoir. Many other song dogs were howling from dark canyon behind this pup during very early morning. Waited awhile only to see this dog eventually join the troop back there...

Recent First Ferrugenous Hawk, good news is I have seen plenty, was only able to gather this photograph of what I believe to be a juvenile bird at a considerable distance. Eastern CC County.

                                                 CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE AUGUST 2025  Allens hummingbird Oakley Early in Eastern CC County perhaps the cooler weather this year       Hope all is well! Sharing some recent photographs and good news in regards to local Coyote populations. The last couple of years I have noticed a significant reduction of coyote numbers in the open plain’s areas of Contra Costa County and surrounding areas.
