CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE DECEMBER 2024

Flying over the Eastern CC County hills near the edge of the Central Valley, a young golden eagle.

Cool, rainy weather welcome! After two strong above average rainfall years in a row. We only have to stay average for a while. Hopefully the storms mellow out to some degree, keeping flooding and landslides to a minimum.

Sharing some local views of the Pacific flyway including the Central Valley in San Joaquin and Sacramento Counties along with Contra Costa and Alameda. All photographs taken in these areas, including a couple in the past taken in the foothills, dated in the individual text. Our hills and meadows are turning green after months of hot and dry conditions. It is a great time of year. Migratory species are on the move and setting up interesting sightings in our beautiful state. Hope everyone is well! Happy Holiday Season!
